On February 25, 2026, the official opening of the Tuasivi Maritime Office on Savaii marked a significant milestone for maritime safety and law enforcement in our region. The facility was inaugurated by the Australian Minister of Foreign Affairs Senator Penny Wong and the Prime Minister of Samoa, Susuga Laaulialemalietoa Polataivao Fosi Schmidt, along with other government officials, embodying the collaborative spirit vital for enhancing our maritime operations. The establishment of the Tuasivi Maritime Office is instrumental in bolstering our capabilities in maritime law enforcement and safety. Situated strategically in Savaii, this facility will allow the police to better monitor maritime activities, ensuring the security of our waters and providing a quicker response to incidents at sea. It represents a commitment to safeguarding our communities. With the growth of risks associated with maritime activities have increased.
