After nearly 50 years of supporting Samoa’s digital journey, Computer Services Limited (CSL Samoa) has unveiled a major rebrand and renewed strategic direction, signalling a bold step forward in the country’s digital future. The announcement was made at Taumeasina Island Resort, where Government leaders, national institutions, business partners, and members of the wider community gathered to witness the milestone moment. A press release states that the rebranding is “More than a new look; the rebrand reflects CSL’s strengthened commitment to expanding connectivity, building digital capability, and creating real opportunities for Samoans.” For decades, CSL has played a quiet but critical role in the background, supporting businesses, Government, schools, and communities as technology evolved across the country. Today, the company steps forward with renewed purpose, clearer direction, and a defined vision for what comes next. CSL remains proudly 100% Samoan-owned, with key shareholders including the Samoa National Provident Fund (SNPF) and Samoa Life Assurance Corporation (SLAC), reinforcing its role as a company built by Samoa, for Samoa. In his keynote address, the Honourable Deputy Prime Minister Toelupe Poumulinuku Onesemo acknowledged CSL’s longstanding contribution: “For nearly five decades, CSL has supported Samoa’s growth in technology, helping to ensure our people remain connected, competitive, and prepared for the future,” he said. “When we support local companies like CSL, we are investing in Samoa’s future.” He added. CSL Chairman Lavea Peseta Lua Nafoi reflected on the significance of the rebrand and CSL’s future direction: “Tonight, we proudly turn the page to the next chapter of CSL Samoa – a chapter where we embrace innovation, expand access for our people, and ensure Samoa remains at the forefront of the digital future. This is a proud moment for our shareholders, our employees, and the communities we serve.” A BRAND WITH PURPOSE A highlight of the evening was the Chairman’s official unveiling of CSL’s new brand identity through a powerful brand advertisement, bringing to life the company’s journey from its early beginnings to its future direction. The best ICT Solutions firm in Samoa and the Pacific. At the centre of the rebrand is a clear and confident message: Think Smart. Think CSL. More than a slogan, it represents a commitment to smarter decisions, stronger connectivity, and trusted technology solutions for Samoa. Think Smart is about making the right move. Think CSL is about knowing who to trust when you do. INVESTING IN SAMOA’S DIGITAL FUTURE Central to CSL’s next chapter is the launch of the Samoa Digital Training & Innovation Centre, an initiative designed to equip people with practical, real-world digital skills. The centre will serve students, job seekers, entrepreneurs, and working professionals, providing accessible training that enables individuals to confidently engage with technology in everyday life. At CSL, being “smart” is not just about access to technology. It is about knowing how to use it to move forward. CEO David Main reinforced this vision, positioning himself as a driver of CSL’s future: “Our vision is simple. We want every Samoan to have access to the tools, connectivity, and skills needed to succeed in a digital world. This rebrand reflects our commitment to making that a reality.” he added: “This is more than a new logo or brand identity. It is a promise to our people that CSL will continue to innovate, empower, and create opportunities for every Samoan, whether at home, school, or in business.” EXPANDING ACCESS AND OPPORTUNITY As part of its forward strategy, CSL is expanding access to connectivity through Starlink while continuing to introduce more accessible technology solutions for homes and businesses across Samoa. These efforts reflect a broader vision: ensuring that more Samoans can participate in, benefit from, and help shape the country’s digital future. Farmer Joe’s Fugalei, Vaitele, Ululoloa, Saleimoa. A MOMENT OF REFLECTION AND DIRECTION The evening also included a message of faith and reflection from Reverend Siaosi Salesulu, who shared the scripture: “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” The message resonated with the direction CSL is taking today. Growth often requires stepping beyond what is familiar and embracing a new path with confidence. This reflects CSL’s journey forward, marked by a willingness to think differently, move with purpose, and embrace smarter ways of doing things. Faamati Specials at SOS Togafuafua and Salelologa!
