God Rewards Faithfulness that Flows from Love for Him

FAITHFUL WHEN NO ONE IS WATCHING Ephesians 6:6 “Not by the way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart.” Paul now addresses the heart behind our work. It’s possible to appear faithful while only working hard when someone is watching. Scripture calls this eye-service—performance driven by visibility rather than integrity. God is not impressed by outward show. He’s concerned with inward faithfulness. True Christian work ethic isn’t shaped by who is present, but by who we belong to. When we understand that we are servants of Christ, even ordinary tasks become acts of obedience to God. This verse confronts the temptation to please people instead of honouring the Lord. People-pleasing may earn temporary approval, but it produces shallow character. Faithfulness, however, is built in private—when the boss is away, when recognition is absent, when effort goes unnoticed. Doing the will of God “from the heart” means working with sincerity, consistency, and devotion. It means giving your best even when no one applauds. It means choosing honesty over shortcuts, diligence over laziness, and excellence over mediocrity. God sees what others overlook. He rewards faithfulness that flows from love for Him. When believers work with integrity in hidden places, they display a gospel-shaped witness that speaks louder than words. Prayer: Father, form in us hearts that are faithful and sincere. Deliver us from people-pleasing and teach us to work as those who serve You. Help us to be diligent, honest, and consistent in our responsibilities. May our faithfulness, even in unseen moments, bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Have a fabulous day. God bless and lots’a love, Warren
