Jesus is at the Centre of the Gospel

REVEALED BY JESUS CHRIST Galatians 1:12 “I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ.” NIV Paul continues to defend the origin of the gospel. The message he preached wasn’t passed down by human tradition, invented by religious thinkers, or shaped by popular opinion. It was revealed by Jesus Christ Himself. That means the gospel isn’t a human philosophy. It isn’t a self-help system. It isn’t a path to personal success or prosperity. It isn’t a program for self-improvement. The gospel is the revelation of what God has done through His Son to save sinners. Because it comes from Christ, Christ must always remain at the centre of it. The moment the focus shifts from Him to us – our achievements, our desires, our prosperity, our spirituality – the message begins to drift. The true gospel announces that Jesus lived the life we couldn’t live, died the death we deserved, and rose again to bring forgiveness and new life. It calls sinners to repentance, faith, and complete dependence on Him. Paul’s point is simple: the gospel is not built on human authority. It rests on divine revelation. And that means our task isn’t to reshape it, but to stay centred on Christ and faithful to His Word. If Jesus isn’t at the centre of the message, it’s no longer the gospel. Prayer: Father, keep our hearts anchored in the true gospel revealed by Your Son. Guard us from messages that shift the focus away from Christ. Help us treasure the good news of His saving work and live with Him always at the centre of our faith. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Have a fabulous day. God bless and lots’a love, Warren
