Sapani Pomare joins SASNOC with an extensive background in Samoan sports, characterized by over two decades of experience as a multi-sport athlete and a highly successful coaching career. A former international representative for Samoa’s national touch rugby squad, Pomare transitioned into elite coaching where he served as the Manusina Sevens Head Coach and the Samoa U20 team. His leadership is defined by a proven track record of championship victories, including leading the Manono Team to a Samoa Super 4 title and securing multiple local Sevens tournament wins for both men’s and women’s divisions. Beyond the field, his diverse professional history in hospitality and private sector management, combined with a ministerial diploma, provides him with the administrative and leadership foundation to drive athletic development within the Olympic committee.
