Not by Works, But by Faith

JUSTIFIED BY FAITH ALONE Galatians 2:15–16 “We who are Jews by birth and not sinful Gentiles know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified.” The heart of the gospel is clear. A person is NOT justified by the works of the law. No amount of obedience, effort, or religious performance can make us right with God. The law can reveal sin, but it can’t remove it. It can expose our need, but it can’t save us. So what is the answer? FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST. To be justified is to be declared righteous before God. Not because we have earned it, but because Christ has accomplished it. His righteousness is credited to us when we trust in Him. Paul repeats this truth again and again—because it’s so important. Not by works. But by faith. Not by effort. But by Christ. Even Paul himself says, “we... have put our faith in Christ Jesus.” If anyone could have trusted in religious background or personal achievement, it was him. But he abandoned all of it for one reason: it can’t justify us or make us right with God This is the dividing line of the gospel. Every false teaching, every distorted message, every religious system that adds human effort to justification departs from this truth. But the gospel remains clear and unchanging: WE ARE MADE RIGHT WITH GOD BY FAITH ALONE IN CHRIST ALONE. Are you resting in Christ’s finished work, or are you still trying to earn what God has already given? Justification isn’t achieved—it is received. Prayer: Father, thank You that we are justified by faith in Jesus Christ and not by our own works. Guard our hearts from trusting in our efforts and help us rest fully in what Christ has done. May we live in the freedom and assurance of Your grace. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Have a fabulous weekend. God bless and lots’a love, Warren
