Police, Prisons and Fire First Responders Join Forces to Compete in Fautasi Race

The Samoa Police, Prisons & Corrections Services (SPPCS) will join forces with the Samoa Fire and Emergency Services Authority (FESA) to compete in this years Independence Fautasi Race. This was proudly announced by SPPCS on Monday afternoon as the team gathered in Apia for training. “Our participation is more than a sporting challenge,” states the SPPCS press release. “It is a symbol of unity, discipline and the enduring commitment of law enforcement and emergency services to safeguard Samoa.. by participating, we demonstrate the strength of partnership and the resilience of our people.” The Fautasi team aims to carry the Say No to Illegal drugs message, according to SPPCS. “Our involvement carries a deeper purpose.. to reinforce the national campaign.” “Just as teamwork and discipline are essential in the long boat, so too, are they vital in protecting our nation from the dangers of illegal drugs.” “The SPPCS remain steadfast in our duty to protect lives, uphold the law and ensure that every citizen can enjoy a safe and prosperous future.” The Fautasi Race is the most anticipated event of the Independece Day celebrations. It was not announced which longboat the team would be using for the competition. The joint team of SPPCS and FESA invite all of Samoa to join them in celebrating independence and in standing strong against illegal drugs “for the safety of our nation and generations to come.”
