Sam, his Wife Sivai and Lise Marie Found Guilty of Defamation and Perverting the Course of Justice

The District Court in its ruling has found Sam Su’a guilty of 8 counts of defamation, while his wife Sivai Kepi Mamea has been found guilty of 2 counts of 2 counts lf perverting the course of justice, while Lisemarie Schmidt has been found guilty of hiding Marie Tusi a witness who Sam claims she was with him on the night young Tuuai Maletino was allegedly hit by a vehicle. The charges against Sam and his wife Sivai stemmed from an interview that he did on Tautai A’e Program on the 13th September 2023 where he accused Lealailepule Rimoni Aiafi of being the driver that allegedly killed Tuuai Maletino. Samuelu was facing 104 charges including misleading pllice and defamation, while his wife was facing 59 charges. For Lisemarie Schmidt she told Samoa Global News that she was originally charge with accessory after the fact by harboring Samuelu and his wife Sivai in which the Supreme Court has found her not guilty of. Judge Talasa Atoa Saaga did not confirm when she will deliver her sentencing for the three defendants that have been found guilty.
