OFFICIAL NOTICE The Samoa Police, Prisons & Corrections Services sadly confirm the passing of Sergeant Evile Paulo Ekueni, who died in the course of duty. Sergeant Ekueni was reported missing during a routine maritime coastal patrol yesterday, Tuesday 3rd February 2026. A search party was called and continued until 10pm last night due to rough seas. Samoa Police say Sergeant Evile’s body was located earlier today, Wednesday. “This is a deeply tragic loss to the SPPCS family and the nation.” Acting Commissioner, management and staff, extend our heartfelt condolences to the Ekueni family, relatives, colleagues, and loved ones during this very difficult time.
