Son of Samoa Appointed to Head American Samoa’s Department of Health Dental Clinic

Dr. Liva Seiuli has been appointed as the Chief Dental of the Department Health Dental Clinic in American Samoa. As reported by American Samoa KVZK television, Dr. Seiuli has dedicated two decades in the dental department and is the first Samoan to hold a prominent title at the American Samoa Department of Health. Dr. Seiuli began his professional journey in dentistry by earning a diploma in dental therapy from the Fiji School of Medicine in 2006. In 2019 he further advanced his qualifications by earning a Bachelor in Dental Surgery deepening his expertise in a range of dental procedures. Most recently he completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Dental Public Health at the Fiji National University. A program that enriched his understanding of public health principals and their crucial application with dental practice. His recent qualification is a Post Graduate Diploma that was supported by the scholarships of both the American Samoa Government and the Secretariat of the Pacific Community. In his interview with KVZK he said, it has been an immense honor to serve the people of American Samoa. He acknowledged the partnership between the Health Department and the SPC that allowed him to pursue his post graduate studies in dental public health. Dr. Seiuli expressed his passion for continuing to serve the community of American Samoa. “I look forward to another decade in this role of building upon my experience as Acting Chief.” Dr. Seiuli is the son of afioga Maualaivao Seiuli Pepe Seiuli and Uno Lautusi-Seiuli of Malie and Lalomanu.
