A highlight of the visit was the Samoan-style umu cooking demonstration, where guests learned about the island’s traditional method of earth oven cooking. Additionally, the spouses experienced the art of soga’imiti and malu – Samoa’s traditional tattooing, as part of the island’s cultural identity and heritage preservation. While the wood carving demonstrations allowed the women to appreciate the craftsmanship passed down through generations.
