The Gospel Doesn’t Merely Improves People but Transforms Them

2026-03-10 - 21:08

TRANSFORMED BY GRACE Galatians 1:13 “For you have heard of my previous way of life in Judaism, how intensely I persecuted the church of God and tried to destroy it.” Paul now points to his own past. Before Christ intervened, Paul wasn’t neutral toward the gospel—he was hostile to it. He persecuted the church, hunted believers, and tried to destroy the very message he would later proclaim. His story reminds us that the gospel doesn’t merely improve people—IT TRANSFORMS THEM. Paul had religious zeal, knowledge, and status, yet he was still opposed to God’s saving work. Religion alone couldn’t rescue him. What he needed was GRACE. And grace did what effort never could. The man who once tried to destroy the church would become one of its most faithful servants. The persecutor became a preacher. The enemy of the gospel became its ambassador. Paul’s past wasn’t hidden—it was redeemed. His story became evidence of the power of God’s grace. The lesson for us is encouraging and humbling: no one is beyond the reach of the gospel. God’s grace is strong enough to rescue the worst sinner, redirect the hardest heart, and transform the most unlikely life. The same grace that changed Paul is the grace that still changes people today. It’s the same grace that can completely transform your life. Prayer: Father, thank You that Your grace is greater than my past. Remind me that no life is beyond Your power to transform. Help me never lose wonder at the gospel that rescues sinners and makes them new. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Have a wonderful day. God bless and lots’a love, Warren
