Truth Must Always Lead Us to Christ

ZEAL WITHOUT TRUTH Galatians 1:14 “I was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my own age among my people and was extremely zealous for the traditions of my fathers.” Before Christ changed his life, Paul was a rising star in Judaism. He was advancing quickly, respected by his peers, and known for his intense zeal for the traditions of his ancestors. From the outside, everything looked impressive. Paul was disciplined. He was committed. He was sincere. But sincerity is not the same as truth. Paul’s zeal was real, yet it was misplaced. He was passionate about preserving religious tradition, but that passion had blinded him to the very Messiah those Scriptures pointed toward. This verse reminds us that religious enthusiasm alone doesn’t equal spiritual understanding. A person can be deeply devoted to tradition, reputation, and religious activity while still missing the heart of the gospel. Zeal without truth can lead us further away from God rather than closer to Him. The gospel calls us beyond tradition and performance to something greater: A LIVING RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS CHRIST. It calls us to anchor our faith not in inherited customs or human systems, but in the revelation of God’s Son. Paul’s story shows that God can redirect even the most sincere but misguided zeal. The lesson for us is simple: PASSION MUST ALWAYS BE GUIDED BY TRUTH, AND TRUTH MUST ALWAYS LEAD US TO CHRIST. Prayer: Father, guard our hearts from mistaking religious activity for true devotion. Help us pursue truth with humility and keep Christ at the centre of our faith. Direct our zeal so that it honours You and reflects the gospel of Your Son. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Have a great day. God bless and lots’a love, Warren
