Tyreece Collins Wins Bronze for 18-19 Category and 9th Overall in Men’s Race at Kingscliff Triathlon 2026

Source: Triathlon Samoa. Samoa’s Tyreece Collins has achieved an impressive 9th place at the Kingscliff Triathlon for the men’s race held in New South Wales this weekend. He has also won a Bronze medal for the men’s 18-19 year old division. Coached by national triathlon coach and administrator Ray J Reupena, Collins achieved a time of 1 hour 06 minutes placing 9th out of 241 males and 11th overall out of 413 triathletes who competed at the event. The Kingscliff Triathlon – commonly known as the “Kingy Tri” – is a biannual community sporting event held in the coastal town of Kingscliff, NSW in Nov/Dec and March every year. It is Tyreece Collins first time racing in Australia. He competed in the Sprint: 750m Swim, 20km Cycle, 5km Run.I Tyreece Collins is Samoa’s top-ranked male triathlete. In December 2025 he was named the number one ranked Pacific Island male triathlon athlete, ahead of Darren Young who holds the number 2 rank. Tyreece Collins recently setting a new national record for the Olympic distance of 2:22:42 in January 2026. Recent Career Highlights (2024–2026) Gold Medal in Fiji: In December 2025, he won the Elite Men’s Race at the World Triathlon Development Regional Cup (Oceania Regional Pacific Cup) in Fiji. Collins’ gold medal win was inspirational since it came just 14 weeks after he’d suffered a broken collarbone in accident while cycling.. He holds multiple Samoan national records, including the Men’s Sprint Triathlonĥ: 1 hour 31:18. Men’s Aquathlon: 39:34, set during the 2025 Pacific Mini Games where he finished 10th overall. In December 2024, he finished 2nd in the men’s division of the Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge 55km race in New Zealand.
